A Message from the President
As we begin the new year my focus will be on growing the chapter and making it interesting for our members and future members. In order to attract people we have to be active and we have to change the way that we do our meetings. In general people do not enjoy going to meetings at work so why would they enjoy attending a meeting after work? I am looking to hold our meetings every other month so that we have time to do our gatherings properly. We will have an educational component to each meeting and hopefully get some of our members to step up and help with that educational piece of the meeting. the organization and execution of our meetings is not strictly on the shoulders of the officers, we are all chefs and all have knowledge and connections that can help. Please think about things that you can do whether it be doing a presentation, inviting someone you know to do a presentation or working with another chef to come up with a presentation. I would like our meetings to be less formal so we will be relaxing the Robert’s Rules and have more of a “meet up” than having a formal meeting. we have decided that we will save the pledge of allegiance and gavel for the voting meetings so that we can relax and enjoy an interesting meet up with our peers. If anyone has any ideas on what we should do this year please contact Chef Ronald at email@example.com.
