I open on a solemn note. On April 4th 2018, our culinary family was saddened by the loss of one of its own when Robert “Chef Bob” Gronda passed away. I spoke with his mother, Joan, and she told me his passing is bittersweet. We are all of course saddened that he is no longer here for us to talk with or see but we are also gladdened that he is at peace. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. A memorial service is planned for May.
Our next meeting will be on Monday May 7th, 2018, at 6:30pm at the Moose Lodge, 302 White Street, Hartford, CT 06106. Chef Anthony Torado, Corporate Executive Chef and Steve Levine, Sales Representative for RC Fine Foods, will be doing a presentation on a Plant Based Resource Guide for a Nutritious Diet. I hope you will all be able to attend. This meeting will be pot luck and all attending are requested to bring a dish. Please RSVP no later than April 30th, 2018.
